- Who Can Apply:
Individuals, companies, bodies corporate, or associations, whether incorporated or not.
New projects using MNRE-approved solar PV modules. - Capacity Limits:
Solar projects: 500 kW to 5 MW (AC capacity).
Wind projects: 500 kW to less than 10 MW. - Restrictions:
Projects already registered under Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) or existing PPAs are ineligible.
Only new plant and machinery are allowed.
Application and Workflow
- Step 1: Register on the AkshayUrja Setu Portal and submit project
details. - Step 2: Secure land and provide connectivity plans.
- Step 3: Sign the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the DISCOM within 15 days of the Letter of Award (LoA).
- Step 4: Commission the project within the stipulated timeline (12 months for solar)
- Step 5: Begin power generation and supply to the grid.
- Registration Fee: ₹10,000/MW (non-refundable).
- Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG): ₹10 Lakh/MW to ensure timely
project commissioning.
